The NSF CAREER Training Series is a three-part strategic program designed to prepare early-career faculty to develop competitive CAREER proposals. The series provides structured guidance on aligning research vision, educational integration, and review criteria with NSF expectations.
Early planning significantly strengthens competitiveness.
What This Series Covers
• Developing a compelling research and education integration plan
• Aligning with NSF Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts criteria
• Insights from previous CAREER awardees
• Proposal organization and strategic positioning
• Directorate expectations and review dynamics
Who Should Attend
This training is intended for faculty who:
• Hold a doctoral degree in an NSF-supported field
• Are untenured and hold at least a 50% tenure-track (or equivalent) appointment
• Are planning to apply for the 2026 NSF CAREER competition
• Have not previously received a CAREER award
Schedule: every second Thursday of the month 1:00 – 2:30PM
- Session 1 (March 12th): Introduction to NSF CAREER Award & Key Elements and Resources (Broader Impacts and Education Evaluation Plans)
- Session 2 (April 9th): NSF Directorate Program Officer panel discussion
- Session 3 (May 14th): Data Management and Best Practices
